The Wrinkle in Time 10th anniversary Tribute -
A World Wide Panorama
The Wrinkle in Time was a series of panography events organized by Robert Abbett (rabbett). They were a landmark in the history of VR, the first world-wide collaborative web effort featuring panoramas.

At the tenth anniversary of the original Wrinkle in Time - December 21st, 1997 - the WWP Team would like to honor the memory of those events, and once more enjoy the spirit of a simultaneous shoot, by sponsoring a special event: The Wrinkle Tribute.
Sirflor shot the photos for the panorama exactly at 07:08 local time.

Atmosphere - A World Wide Panorama

In the days March 2007 equinox, photographers around the world will participate in another World Wide Panorama event.
There is another meaning of atmosphere, denoting the "pervading tone or mood of a place, situation, or work of art". We say that a place has atmosphere because it carries with it suggestions of other times, other places, of feelings and moods. Restaurants, bars and other social spaces make great use of this sort of atmosphere, cultivating it or inventing it. Every culture has its own varieties of
atmosphere, from classic British pubs to wild west saloons, ritzy to Bohemian, class to crass. It is a subtle thing, we know it when we encounter it, but it may be hard to photograph.
So I decided to shoot my panorama on a place with a special atmosphere.

It features 240 new VR panoramas on the theme "borders". Truly a world wide event, there are entries from 43 countries, including 24 states of the US and 5 Canadian provinces.

This event brings the total on the site to over 2000 panoramas by 636 participants. The next event is planned for June 21-25, 2006, with
the theme "gardens".
